A Proud Tradition Since 1979

The Miss Mt. Nebo Pageant began as part of the 31st Annual Mt. Nebo Chicken Fry on May 19, 1979, atop the picturesque Mount Nebo. Contestants competed on a flatbed trailer in categories such as swimwear, casual wear, and interviews. That year, Rhonda Barton of Plainview was crowned the first Miss Mt. Nebo, with Kim Vernon and Vickie Robertson, both from Dardanelle, earning first and second runner-up titles.

Since its inception, the Miss Mt. Nebo Pageant has grown into a celebrated tradition, supported by the Dardanelle Area Chamber of Commerce and serving as a stepping stone for young women to compete on the Miss Arkansas stage.

The Miss Mt. Nebo Competition, proudly sponsored by the Dardanelle Area Chamber of Commerce, offers young women the opportunity to build self-confidence, master interview skills, and create lifelong friendships.

Our mission is to nurture these qualities through competitions in interview, evening gown, and on-stage questions. These experiences not only prepare participants for job interviews and public speaking but also help cultivate poise and presentation skills that benefit them in school, clubs like FBLA, and beyond.

Eligibility:

Miss Mt. Nebo: Open to contestants from Conway, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Perry, Pope, Sebastian, and Yell counties.

Miss Mt. Nebo Teen: Open statewide to all eligible participants across Arkansas.

Delegates will showcase their talent, poise, and confidence while building lifelong memories and friendships. Compete in categories including formal wear, talent, and interview, and vie for the chance to represent our community at the state level.

This event is more than a competition—it's a celebration of empowerment, self-expression, and the incredible young women of Arkansas.

Little Miss Mt Nebo Competition

The Little Miss Mt. Nebo Pageant celebrates young girls ages 0 to 13, emphasizing beauty, grace, and confidence. This event provides participants with the chance to showcase their unique personalities and talents in a fun, supportive environment.

The pageant features categories for all age groups, including formal wear and optional talent segments. Contestants will be judged on appearance, poise, confidence, and stage presence, with the opportunity to participate in the Miss Photogenic category, highlighting their most captivating photos.
